Just
like every NLF season, we expect to see a vast amount of injuries, as a result
of the tough contact sport. We are only mid-way through the season and reports
of injured players seem to be a daily topic in the news.
Hard
blows to the head have caused concussions for many players, including San
Francisco 49ers quarterback, Alex Smith. On Sundays game against the St. Louis
Rams, Smith was miraculously able to throw a 14-yard touchdown with blurred
vision. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick suffered a very bad
concussion during Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, as well. ESPN.com
recently changed Vick’s injury status to “doubtful”, which means he could be
placed on Injury Reserve for the remainder of the season.
Green Bay
Packers starting right tackle, Bryan Bulaga, is announced to be out for the
season suffering from a hip injury. The injury will not require surgery, only a
long period of rest and healing to insure Bulaga's return. Pittsburgh Steelers
suffered hardship Monday night, with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger injuring
his throwing shoulder against the Kansas City Chiefs. Roethlisberger went
straight from the game to the hospital, and this morning reports that he
is still in a lot of distress.
