The Atlanta Falcons- The Rising Underdogs Headed to the NFC Championship

After the playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, which turned out to be quite the nail bitter, Falcons fans everywhere are thrilled that they will continue on to the NFC championship this Sunday to play the 49ers. The game against the Seahawks turned around during the 4^th quarter when Matt Ryan completed two long passes and Bryant kicked a 49-yard field goal with 8 seconds remaining, lifting the NFC's top competitor to a stunning 30-28 victory. Little had hope in the Falcons due to last years humiliating performance during the playoffs, where they lost to the New York Giants 24-2. But the Falcons proved they meant business this season when in December they crushed the Giants 34-0.

The Falcons are being referred to as this years ‘Team of Destiny’ which will only prove true after the NFC championship game against the skilled 49ers.The Falcons have only made it to the super bowl once in 1999 where they lost to the Broncos (34-19). But the Falcons have come a long way, finishing this last season with a 13-3 record.
