Monday
night the Carolina Panthers served the Philadelphia Eagles their 7th straight loss, with a final score
of 30-22. Cam Newton lead the Panthers to an early lead of 14-3. The Eagles
made a strong come back changing the score to 15-14. Two field goals were
made by Alex Henry, and Bryce Brown had an epic 65-yard touchdown
run.
By the
second half, Brown scored his second touchdown, but he fumbled twice including once in
Panthers territory. Brown set a club rookie record with 178 yards rushing,
including TD runs of 65 and 5 yards, but it was still not enough for a win.
Rookie Nick Foles was solid in his second straight start for Michael Vick who
sat out with a concussion. Foles was 16-of-21 for 119 yards.
Late in the fourth quarter, Newton ran a 2-yard touchdown
with just under five minutes to play, but, kicker Graham Gano missed the extra
point to leave it a one-score game. Incredibly, that drive included three
consecutive off-side penalties on Philadelphia. Eagles QB Newton finished
18-of-28 for 306 yards and had a passer rating of 125.
